Job Description:

Michigan Catering delivers fresh and delicious food, creative menu ideas, beautiful presentations, and excellent customer service—whether for a continental breakfast for 15 guests, a wedding reception for 400 guests, a reception for up to 3000 guests—or anything in between.

As a server in Michigan Catering, you will play an intricate role in the guest experience from event set-up, serving the guests, and event breakdown after everyone leaves. Servers need to be able to work closely with other student employees, and must be able to interact with guests, solve problems, work as a team, and manage time efficiently – all with a positive attitude!

Schedules are flexible based on events; however you must be available to work on weekends.

No previous experience required.

Your responsibilities would be centered on giving the highest level of customer service by greeting guests with a smile, processing transactions, preparing specialty sandwiches and beverages, maintaining a clean and neat location, and keeping the store stocked with snacks that every student craves.

This position provides special perks, such as smaller team sizes, late night hours so you can work after studying, free meals at your location, and opportunities to sample new retail products that haven’t hit the market yet!

Specification Information-

  • Maintain information in FSS database

Nutrition information & Signage

  • Assist Nutrition Program graduate students with office support functions

Office support:

  • Filing, mailings, photocopying, organization of storage areas
  • Other duties as requested

Desired Skills and Knowledge:

  • Experience using Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Good Communication skills, written and Oral
  • Attention to detail especially numbers
