MDining aims to provide food service that prioritizes animal respect, health, and well-being, and that promotes environmental sustainability.
- All the milk, yogurt, and soft-serve ice cream served in the dining halls come from Prairie Farms, a dairy cooperative made up of local Michigan dairy farms that upholds the highest standards of animal care and contains no genetically engineered hormones.
- Shelled eggs used for dishes in the dining halls and retail locations are all cage-free.
- All beef in burgers on campus are sourced from spent dairy cattle, and is blended with mushrooms to reduce the amount of beef required
- PETA awarded Michigan an A+ for their vegan work. The availability of vegan and vegetarian options within the dining halls, as well as Sustainable Mondays, helped to earn this grade and also educate students on sustainability issues.
